4 Things I Learned in October

Here are four random things I learned in October.

  1. Tomato leaves are not poisonous!

2. Daylilies are edible: shoots, tubers, buds, and flowers.

3. There are three types of epistolary novel.

  • monologic: letters written by one character
  • dialogic: letters sent between two characters
  • polylogic: letters by three or more characters

4. I should probably stop reading thrillers. I’m sucked in by the promise of a shocking twist and that ends up being the only thing that keeps me reading. It’s just not my favourite genre of fiction.

What did you learn in October?

I’ve seen recipes featuring pansies, nasturtiums, roses, and squash blossoms, but never daylilies. I wonder if they taste good.
