6 Things I Learned in October

It’s so warm and sunny at my house this week, I can hardly believe it’s November. Here’s hoping for another weekend of hiking or canoeing. Meanwhile, in October I learned that…

  1. In Europe butter is sold in blocks of 200 g (14 tablespoons).

2. The prize money for Nobel laureates is currently 10 million Swedish krona (more than $1 million CAD).

3. 50% of the land the Bruce Trail passes through is privately owned, but the Bruce Trail Conservancy buys up land as it becomes available.

4. A bit of burning chicken fat is all it takes to fill the house with smoke and set off the smoke alarm for half an hour.

5. Our view of man impacts how we habit train our children. (Do they have souls or are they robots we can manipulate?)

6. In my personal Bible reading I usually just read through a book or two at a time, but I’ve been doing a ladies’ Bible study using Jen Wilkin’s inductive study method and I absolutely love looking up and copying out the cross references (we just finished James chapter 1).

What did you learn in October?
