6 Things I Learned in December

Here’s an odd assortment for you…

  1. Coffee may contain mycotoxins (toxins caused by molds) and some people believe this contributes to anxiety. [Seems like there usually aren’t enough mycotoxins to cause issues.]

2. The difference between poisonous and venomous organisms — poisonous organisms hurt you when their toxins are ingested or absorbed into your skin, while venomous organisms release toxins when they bite or sting you.

3. I learned how to play a handful of new games (listed here).

4. Comparing grocery prices in Ontario and New York was interesting. In my albeit limited experience I found that whole milk and cream cheese were half the price in NY, but eggs cost more.

5. A medieval Greek Orthodox fresco shows Saint Nicholas slapping Arius at the First Council of Nicaea.

6. Queen Charlotte (wife of George III) was the first royal to set up a Christmas tree in England.

I’m sure I learned more but didn’t take notes! What did you learn in December?
